It’s been 7 years since Shirley “The Queen” Manson and the boys have released a new, freshly baked Garbage album. For some bands such a great time of absence could become a career killer, unless one’s given his contribution to the ever so glorious music inheritance. Well, Garbage have definitely given their toll.
When they first came on to the music scene in the mid 90’s, Garbage were associated with nothing more than just one name: Butch Vig. The man who helped Nirvana create one of the most important albums of all time – Nevermind. The other three members were a producer (Duke Erickson), an engineer (Steve Marker) and a fierce redhead with a voice so deep, you can get lost in it.
What could such an interestingly strange group create? Garbage - a multiplatinum, self-titled debut album that produced one hit single after the other: Queer, Stupid Girl, Only Happy When It Rains, Milk. In no time the band reached worldwide success and cult status. Having garnished the album with top-notch videos, filmed by some of the best directors of our time, a successful world tour and impeccable image their debut definitely created big expectations.
